Week 19 good to WOW SOOC Umbrella/Rain

Even though we had a ton of rain this week, the only chance I had to take some pictures of it was late Saturday night.  We also only own a cream umbrella.  So luckily on Saturday after 10 hours driving around looking at yarn stores it was raining and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table to eat.  Using my friend and her sister's umbrella, I tried, but it was dark and I was tired.  So my SOOC are not in the competition.  However, I should have ample opportunity to experiment with editing.

I'll admit I had a few shots where her expression was the more traditional happy smile, but these are the ones that make me happiest (edited to add: they make me happy because they retain the best detail when edited and her surprised expression makes me laugh and gives the photo something interesting.  Hey, I used to watch top model and they always like the photos that have unique expressions which makes my friend into a model, right?)

Make sure and hop on over to Jill's blog to see more rain and umbrella shots.  There are some wonderful SOOC ones!

It makes you happy that I look so awful? Lord, how embarrasing. Oh well. You'll just have to make it up for me on another challenge. LOL

AWww Julie - I don't think you look bad at all! These are fun shots - great job with it being dark, etc.

I love these & can't wait to see what you do with them. Rain shots make me happy- I know that sounds strange- but I really love the rain.

Ah!! I knew that umbrella looked familiar!! :) And I agree, sometimes the "other looks" are just as adorable/meaningful as the normal smiles. I'm glad that you two had fun together -- and both get to encourage/help each other with this stuff... it's fun to read/see! :)

I'm thinking I like that first one the best... something about the relaxed look, plus the background... I don't know... almost seems to compliment Julie and the umbrella. Good job on working with what little light you had...
