Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I have been taking pictures all week with the scavenger prompts in  mind.  I really wanted to have all of my pictures be SOOC so I took pictures one day and went out the next day trying to get what I had missed in the first attempt.  I didn't exactly get what I wanted, but I definitely worked at improving my photography.   This is one of the reasons I love Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  The other reason is all the already amazing photographers whose work I love.  Be sure to hop on over and look at some.

SOOC:
I almost used this for isn't this ironic since we have an Air Force and an Army Base near us but this is a Navy plane.  However,  I wanted a SOOC that might actually be challenging to capture (if the plane didn't fly directly into your yard) with a kit zoom.  I shot several pictures.  Another had better contrast and another was approaching at a better angle, but this one had the sharpest focus.  Very hard not to edit just a little now that I know how.

Sprouting:
This is the same apple tree from my poem hunt a few weeks ago.  Definitely sprouting.  (However, I did crop a tiny bit so not really SOOC).

Isn't It Ironic:
That what we see as being embarrassing behind on yard work (notice the hand trowel in the trunk of her car; totally unintentional) our children see as...
A field of flowers they are actually allowed to pick.

Lazy:
I was going to say what is more lazy than an afternoon spent blowing dandelion seeds, but my daughter shows me that true laziness is plucking the seeds off with your fingers because blowing them is "too hard, Mama!"  (The picture of Sunflower was the hardest not to edit and leave SOOC; the dandelion is cropped to fit in the collage.)

Smells Like Spring:
I don't know what these actually smell like, but they sure look pretty.  I did crop a dandelion out of the picture in the lower left corner.  I went outside the next day to take the picture closer to see if I could avoid cropping, but the dandelions had grown so much I couldn't even get the original photo.  Now it has rained all weekend, so yes, we are still behind on yard work.  I know, lazy, lazy, lazy.

Have a fabulous Sunday and Mother's Day!

Wow, I really love your "Sprouting" and "Smells Like Spring" shots! My kids love dandelions and it's such a treat for them whenever we summer in Canada that they get to experience picking dandelions and/or blowing at them! :)

These are all SO good, but I think I like your take on ironic the best. That sort of kid mentality makes me smile. :)

ahh that was so cute saying that it was too hard to blow the dandelion seeds - I loved that photograph and now it looks like you're going to have even more dandelions next year :) Your last shot of the bluebells is just so pretty aswell. Congratulations on them all being sooc's especially capturing that plane with such good focus.

Gorgeous outdoorsy series. I'm most touched by the ironic observation though...
