Scavenger Hunt Sunday--April 3

It is Sunday again which means it is time for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.  If you want to play along be sure to head over to Ashley's Blog and get the details.  It is some serious fun and a great motivation to "get shooting!"

High Key--
I thought, initially, that this was a very odd item. I kept thinking, ummm, I wish I still had access to my MIL's old house and cast iron key collection hanging around the ceiling of her dining room.  She had over a hundred keys, and it could be a great picture of high keys.  But I didn't, so I took some pictures of my keys and thought about ways to make them high.  I don't know what, maybe some photoshopping them into the sky or hanging from a high branch or... Well, you get the picture.  But I ran a new action this week and it had a "high-key" BW option.  Turns out High Key is a type of Black and White style that is very bright, has few shadows, and is usually used for portraits.  Unfortunately for you, I already had a lot of pictures of keys.

Bedroom--
I really didn't have time to get too creative with this one, but here is my 2 year old's bedroom after a nap.  There used to be trees and butterfly stickers on the walls, but those went long before this week's naps.  I really miss her crib.  This was one of her shorter naps.

Something Tiny--
All week I knew a friend was bringing me her newborn on Thursday so I could play with my camera.  What is more tiny than a newborn?  Unfortunately, all other newborns and babies upto 3 months.  She didn't seem too tiny, but her feet are still a lot tinier than any of the feet in my life.

Off in the Distance--
I wanted to try to take a photograph of the moon for this one, even if it wasn't very unique it would be a nice way for me to explore.  However, it was cloudy and rainy all week.  It was also apparently the week with no/very little moon.  Makes sense since the super moon was only a few weeks ago.  Need to brush up on my second grade science.  So than I was thinking I am "far away" from having a mess free house, but "far away" is not really the same as "off in the distance."  But my house is not big enough to take a picture that gives the look of off in the distance and it was rainy all week!  So you are getting a picture from last week.  Trust me, he is quite a distance away!
Off in the Distance
Stripes--
It did clear up enough today to go take some pictures at a local car dealership.  When they asked me what I was doing I explained the scavenger hunt.  They looked skeptical, but let me keep shooting.  I almost felt like a real pretend photographer, but I know I'm not because I was not willing to cross the 5 lane street and get the best perspective!  Plus I took the first half of my photos with my auto focus off and didn't notice--actually I was pretty much done, it just became half-way through since I had to take all the same angles over again.

I am a total sucker for baby feet (my babe is 6 months old now and his feet aren't so tiny as of late!) and for American flags! Bravo!

Hello Cedar, I am glad I am not the only one to think about this High Key thing and wonder where I could put keys somewhere high.
My son is moving out soon and got his new keys to his flat yesterday, so I thought he could hold it in the air for me to take a shot.

He laughed and said no and then went on his iphone and did a search and came back with the explanation for High Key Photography! He laughed even more and I thought I will miss him.

Anyway your hunt is great, I love the baby's feet and the stripes. xxx

Love the flags for striped! The moon would have been fun to play around with, I was lucky enough to capture the super moon! Sweet little tiny baby feet :)

I really like your distance shot! What a fun take on it!

I had to google high key too. I thought I'd be one of the only ones, but I'm finding many didn't know what it meant at first. Whew!

Thanks for visiting my blog. That "high key" shot of yours is very clever! So glad to see that my kids' rooms are not the only messy ones out there. LOL! I like your stripes shot a lot too!

Your off in the distance capture made me smile! I love that. Also, the messy bedroom is definitely a scene from my house. Although my daughter surprised me last night when she called me in to her room where it was spotless! yay. Also, I can't say how adorable the tiny feet are! Great.

I totally did NOT understand the high key thing - I thought it had to do with energy (ie: trying to keep up with a 2yo!). Anyway, you live, you learn, right?

I love, love your tiny photo and stripes!

LOVE the stripes photo. I had no idea what high key was until after I submitted my photos and saw others.
