Week 12 good to WOW SOOC Green

Time to post our S(traight) O(ut) O(f) the C(amera) shots for Jill and Ashley's challenge.  I thought I had a clear pick, but turns out it is a little more out of focus than I like (which I don't think is salvageable with an edit) so I'm showing you three photos.  I just could not decide.  I want them all to become WOW.

My oldest child, Huckleberry*, age 11.  In a tree:
1/80  f/5.3  ISO 800  175mm
On a swing:
1/320  f/5.6  ISO 100  200mm
And since Ashley said she was going to talk about the true color of grass, running toward me:
1/500  f/5.6  ISO 100  200mm
Come on!  Join in.  Every one is very nice, and you can learn a lot.

His expressions are priceless!! I'd love to see how you apply Ashley's tutorial to the grass!

Great pics! I really need to learn about the true color of grass also, since I take a lot of pics at the soccer field.

Great shots! Thank you for the kind comment on my blog! I saw from your profile that your favourite movie is Arsenic and Old Lace. Can I just say that you have FANTASTIC taste. That scene at the beginning where Cary Grant chases the around the tree? *sigh* Or where he opens the window box and finds the body inside? Hilarious.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

I think they're great! Love all of the action you captured, and it looks like there is a story behind the tree shot!

Hm, can't decide which is my favorite of the three, 1 or 2. Nice catches and it will be cool to see them again on Thursday!

The swing shot is my fav - love the action and his expression! The tree shot is pretty cool, too! It would have been fun to have 2 shots (dipstych/collage) for the tree -- one like above w/ the tree in focus and your boy "hiding" and then have the next one with your boy in focus and the tree blurry -- kinda like you're peeking in and found him! :) But that's just me... and I usually think of these things on my stuff later, too! hehe!

Thanks for stopping by my blog -- to answer your question, the green curly things are wild onions. You can cut the green part (chives) to season food with and even dig up the bottom part (the root/ball/"onion" part.) They grow all over the place, and really pop up in the spring, then again (but not to the same extent) in late summer/fall.

I hope you can rescue that photo as it is a great moment to capture. The swing action shot is so good - reminds me of my days of just having great fun with my swing.
