Week 35 good to WOW Edit Back to School--Not Really

So it is time for Thursday's edit of my Monday photo of the rainbow.  First in Lightroom I just did a basic edit.
I applied the presets that come with LR3--General Punch, Flat Tone, and Narrow Edges Sharpening.  And I boosted the black slider by 8.  I believe mouseover should work to see the original.

Then, because that seemed kind of boring, I took it into PSE thinking maybe to apply a texture or something and ended up duplicating the image, making the canvas larger, and rotating one layer to make this:
Oh, and I added some text because that boring white space was just asking for it.  Besides I cannot see a rainbow without thinking about it representing God's promises to me.

Then, because I needed to look at somethings beautiful last night, I created a "rainbow" collage of some of the gorgeous flowers I saw at the Farmer's Market a few Saturdays ago and haven't had a chance to use yet.  I created the collage in LR3 following this tutorial, but while adding photos is simpler in LR3 than in PSE, I do like being able to angle the photos, vary the edging (which is doable in LR if I create a PSD template and than apply it as my nameplate, but kind of complicated), and just the overall more flexibility.
On the other hand, this is the 3rd collage I've done using the template I created for my first collage since saving my own templates is very simple in Lightroom.

I hope you do go visit the other "Back to School" edits over at Ashley's blog!

Ohhh I love that promise (can I tell you there was a rainbow in the sky the night of my engagement shoot...brought tears to my eyes).
This is quite clever, bright and crisp.
I felt completely indulged taking in the rainbow collage, what a feast!
