The Fair

Every body loves the fair, right?  Well, not really me, but we got free tickets and it does seem like one of the "supposed to do things" to raise well-rounded children.  We did have a good time, and I particularly loved looking at the photography.  We went in the evening which meant the kids were out late, but it wasn't as crowded and not hot like it was all weekend during the days.  I was a little disappointed in my photos, but I did get a few sweet-ish shots by which to remember the day.  I guess what they say about having a passion for your subject is true; sorry, kids, you are back to being my focal point.
The kids can spend hours in this mobile that teaches about farming.  So could I if there was just a chair!
Mutton Busting!  What?  Ride a sheep for 6 or more seconds and win a prize.  My children weren't brave enough to try (and neither were their parents brave enough to let them), but we did watch for a while in amazed fascination.  No one was hurt in the making of this picture.
I love how these people's hair is flying into the air.  The only thing that would make this photo more fun for me is if I actually knew the people.  But that would require us forking over the money to ride the rides.
Flavored honey sticks, one of the many food items we did hand some money over for.  Everyone loved their chosen flavor; even my husband's licorice honey.
I do love the fruit and vegetable displays.  They can get pretty creative and beautiful, especially rainbows, even ones that don't follow ROYGBIV.

If you lived in our state then it would be clear that the Fair perfectly fits Texture Tuesday's theme--DO! because "Do the ___________" is deeply ingrained in all of our minds since infanthood (Is that the theme for other fairs?).  However, just to be on the safe side I also added the Autumn Burst texture to fit the alternative theme.
Ooh, pretty colored lights.  I took lots of pictures of the Ferris Wheel's pretty lights, too, but one light shot in a post is probably enough.
Even though it got late, there was still plenty of energy for pretty bubbles.  I can't say the outfit held up quite as well.  Does anyone have a "Wash Clothes" preset or action?

that owl is too cool!

A wash clothes preset? How about a vacuum and mop the floor preset while we're at it?

(I can't tell you how many photos of my babies crawling are just ruined by dust and dog fur showing up on the wood floor....) : )

How fun is that photo...I've never seen anyone arrange vegetables and fruit so creatively...especially at a fair. I'm glad you guys had a great time and well you can't really turn down "free" tickets.

Thanks for sharing.
