The Beach

Since we didn't get on the road until 11 on Saturday we had to go to the closest beach to us; not quite as spectacular as some other beaches.  That didn't prevent us from having fun, though.  But once again I took way too many pictures.  They (including my husband) played in the sand for hours, and I didn't have anything to do but take pictures--I'm not supposed to dig in the dirt, am I?  But today I'm only sharing a few for Sweet Shot Tuesday, and one for Texture Tuesday.
It was a pretty rocky beach and the seaweed gunk?  Ugh!
But it makes for an interesting texture!  Wait, that isn't what Texture Tuesday is about?
Here is a shot that does have one of Kim Klassen's Textures added--Cracker Jack as per this week's challenge.  Added at 100% opacity Soft Light Blending Mode.  Gives it a fun aged/vintage feel.
But this is one of my favorite shots from the day, especially with their clear reflection.  We all did have a wonderful day.  Though I'll admit my favorite time was when I finally got them to stand in the shade!  I get hot just looking at the sun bouncing off of them in most of the day's shots!
Their outfits are even almost coordinated!  What were they thinking when they got dressed?

Have the most blessed of Tuesdays!  Huckleberry starts Middle School--why do they think he is old enough?

I love shots of the ocean, even the gunky 'texture' seaweed! Beautiful work on the crackerjack texturing.

Having a camera can help save your sanity when in a "boring" situation. I think this is why I have so many photos of the beach too. You have ended up with some nice shots..... and less frustration.

Beautiful photos with a delicious light, I like children very much reflected in the water.

Summer has been over for a few weeks here and the chill in the mornings is a testament to that. Your shots also make me miss living within an 30 minute's driving of a large, clean water source to enjoy...

What a great series of photos -- I really love your textured shot; it gives it such a soft, vintage effect. The shot of the two boys walking together is great; they look like they are enjoying the moment.
